Job Description & How to Apply Below

Lake Travis United Methodist Church, in San Antonio, is seeking a Student Ministry Director.

Student Ministries is for students in grades 6 through 12. The Student Ministries Director will partner with the Children’s Ministry Director and the Senior Pastor to create a fluent discipleship plan from birth through 12th grade, so that all children in our church are loved, missional, connected, purposeful, discipled, family-centered, and pursuing an authentic relationship with God.

As part of the leadership of LTUMC, the Student Ministries Director’s main responsibility is to design, organize, coordinate, and lead youth activities in the church with a view to the overall mission of Children’s and Student Ministries. The Student Ministries Director will recruit and train volunteers, plan activities and related logistics for the youth, communicate with the youth, their parents, church staff, and the congregation, as well as the larger community outside of our local church, participate in outreach to increase youth participation, assist in integrating new families into the church, and disciple and mentor the youth in their spiritual walk.

The successful candidate, in addition to a solid grounding in Scripture and evidence of a vital, mature, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, will possess the ability to establish strong rapport with middle school and high school students while leading them in discipleship, collaborative interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, and the administrative skill to establish a strong youth program that moves LTUMC children seamlessly from the Children’s Ministry to the Student Ministry and launches them into their lives as adult members of the church.

Compensation is competitive for the area and will be commensurate with experience and skills.
