Education and Experience
  • Master's Degree
  • Three years of experience as an Agriculture certified Career and Technical Education teacher
  • Three years of experience as an educational leader
  • Experience in coaching teachers and observing instruction
Certifications
  • Valid Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, or Mid-Management Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification
  • Valid Career and Technical Education Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification
  • High School Diploma and college/university degrees from accredited programs approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
Primary Purpose Summary

Provide leadership in the development, implementation and management of the North East Agriscience Magnet Program. Serve as the budget manager and maintain budgetary data related to the magnet program. Support the main campus by monitoring and evaluating Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers, maintaining CTE inventory, and supervising all CTE events for the campus.

Essential Requirements and Responsibilities
  • Assist the school principal and CTE director in overall administration of the Agriscience Magnet Program and facility operations.
  • Coordinate assigned student activities and services for magnet program.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of Career and Technical Education programs on the campus.
  • Assist the principal with maintaining and using information systems to track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators in relation to the magnet program.
  • Observe employee performance, record observations and conduct evaluation conferences for Career and Technical Education teachers.
  • Assist with planning magnet program activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.
  • Supervise reporting and monitoring of magnet student attendance and work with the attendance clerk on follow-up investigation.
  • Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers related to the magnet program.
  • Monitor magnet student's achievement.
  • Coordinate resources and efforts of instructional staff to improve student performance.
  • Support, coordinate, and advise activities of the James Madison FFA youth leadership, Madison FFA parent booster organization, Madison FFA alumni group, and AMP Advisory Council.
  • Evaluate farm supervisor's job performance.
  • Oversee the student transfer process as a magnet program.
  • Develop relationships with higher education, state agencies, agriculture industry, community groups, non-profit organizations, and stock show professionals.
  • Direct program public relations efforts and recruitment activities.
  • Coordinate program physical plant maintenance and improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate continuous renewal of curriculum, policies and instruction methods.
  • Secure necessary personnel resources to meet objectives.
  • Compile supply budget needs and cost estimates.
  • Obtain broad-based input to identify, review, and analyze resources, facilities and equipment needs.
  • Solicit, disperse, and manage financial and in-kind donations from industry and non-profit organizations.
  • Monitor use, maintenance, and replacement of equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Report to work on time every day.
  • Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned.
  • Qualification Requirements
    • Demonstrated knowledge of research-based curriculum and instructional materials.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to prepare and manage a budget.
    • Ability to supervise employees, establish and maintain effective working relationships with executive management, campus/department heads, elected officials, District employees, other school districts and government agencies, outside organizations and the general public.
    • Valid Texas Drivers License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District.
