Academic Dean
The position for an Academic Dean will be available at East Central ISD for the school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is 4:00 pm., May 25, 2026, or until the position is filled.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Primarily responsible for overseeing academic programs to ensure sound curriculum development and staff development in order to improve student achievement and meet the school wide goal of excellence for all.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree (preferably in Curriculum and Instruction)
Appropriate Texas Teacher Certificate
Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certificate (or eligible for Temporary Mid-Management Certification)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational skills
Strong oral/written communication skills
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Experience:
5 years teaching experience
EQUIPMENT USED: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress; may work prolonged or irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint; and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 220 days-basis
SALARY: Administrative Pay Grade 106
