Role Description

The Assistant Principal for Pre‑K through 2nd grade is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area. This role supports the campus principal in leading instructional excellence, including observing classrooms, coaching teachers, and ensuring high‑quality, developmentally appropriate instruction for early learners. The Assistant Principal helps design and implement systems for behavior management, student support, and family communication that reflect the school’s values and commitment to equity.

Daily responsibilities include analyzing student data, coordinating interventions, supporting special programs and services, and helping plan professional development for staff. The role also involves collaborating with families and community partners, ensuring a safe and inclusive school environment, and contributing to campus culture, events, and operational routines.

Qualifications
  • Strong instructional leadership skills in early childhood and primary grades, including experience coaching teachers, supporting curriculum implementation, and using data to improve student outcomes.
  • Expertise in classroom management and school‑wide culture systems, with the ability to promote a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, educators, and community partners in a diverse school community.
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational equity, including experience serving students from varied backgrounds and a focus on closing opportunity and achievement gaps.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities, with capacity to manage multiple priorities, support campus operations, and respond calmly to urgent situations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant teaching certification and/or administrative or principal certification (or eligibility to obtain), subject to state and local requirements.
  • Prior experience as a teacher and/or instructional leader in Pre‑K–2nd grade or elementary settings strongly preferred.
