SUMMARYThis position contributes to the mission of Oak Hills Church (OHC) to be disciples who make disciples by guiding all people to follow Jesus moment by moment. The staff member is responsible for serving as the point spiritual and visionary leader for Children’s, Student, and Young Adult (YA) Ministry at OHC by developing, implementing, and fostering a thriving Christ-centered culture and ministry.
This role is highly intentional about equipping parents and partnering with them to make the family the primary environment for faith formation.

- Develops, implements, and leads Ministry Plans which promote a healthy, authentic, and thriving ministry for children, middle and high school students and college and young adults to belong, grow in their faith and invite their friends. Ensures alignment with OHC ministry strategy and provides reporting and analysis of Next Gen goals and metrics.
- Leads the Next Gen staff team through prayer, one‑on‑ones, goal setting, development, team meetings, training, and evaluation.
- Promotes a culture of collaboration, ownership, empowerment, accountability, and fun.
- Oversees, trains and coaches pastors in their role as Bible teacher, trainer, and communicator in their respective environments.
- Builds, models, and maintains quality relationships with students, leaders and parents through ministry and community involvement, communication, encouragement, responsiveness, and support.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders, including local schools and parachurch organizations, for collaboration on discipleship and outreach initiatives.
- Oversees and ensures timely compliance with all OHC policies and procedures including child and youth protection policies. Ensures volunteers successfully complete application process. Ensures timely updates of administration systems such database entries, calendar, communication, and follow‑up processes.
- Manages and participates in the annual budget preparation to ensure adequate funds for the assigned area. Monitors and approves expenditures; directs and implements adjustments as needed.
- Performs pastoral ministry duties such as teaching, weddings, funerals, baptisms, hospital visits, counseling and prayer as needed.
- Attends assigned staff meetings, trainings, and events; solicits and relays information, participates in problem solving, and provides recommendations for policy changes and program development.

- Attends Membership Class and becomes a member within three (3) months of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. Preferably Biblical Studies or related field.
- Four (4) years of leadership experience in student ministry with a minimum of two (2) years of direct staff supervision. Experience in a 1,000+ member church preferred.
- Experience can substitute for education.
- Current Texas driver’s license (Incumbents with out‑of‑state license must attain Texas license within six (6) months of employment).
- Knowledge of biblical theology, Christian biblical world view, and church ministry philosophies.
