Job DescriptionThird Future Schools is a high-achieving and growing network of charter schools. The network’s school in San Antonio, TX, Tafolla Middle School, is seeking a DYAD Media Consultant to lead engaging elective classes for students. Third Future Schools will provide student elective access through DYAD Electives, a specialized experiential learning model for students. This model is designed to build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills through hands‑on learning experiences.
Students are grouped and participate in elective‑style courses that may include technology, fitness, arts, and other enrichment experiences.
- Provide engaging, structured, and experience‑based instruction in media.
- Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
- Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
- Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
- Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
- Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
- Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands‑on learning experiences.
- Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
- Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
- Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real‑world experiences.
- Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
- Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through media showcases, presentations, displays, screenings, or other demonstrations of learning.
- Skill, knowledge, and first‑hand experience in media, communications, digital content, broadcasting, or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills.
- Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience‑based learning.
- Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
