Position Summary

The Recruitment and Admissions Specialist connects individuals with career training, education, and employment opportunities offered through Goodwill San Antonio's Academy and Career Services. This role involves community outreach, relationship cultivation, eligibility screening, and comprehensive enrollment support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Uphold and model Goodwill’s mission, core values, and servant leadership philosophy.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic, data-driven outreach and recruitment initiatives to meet or exceed enrollment targets.
  • Represent Goodwill programs at public events, career fairs, school visits, and resource fairs.
  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with community-based organizations, workforce partners, and education/training providers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date network of stakeholders and referral sources and serve as a program ambassador within the community.
  • Track recruitment activities and analyze engagement data to refine strategies.
  • Provide timely follow‑up to individuals who express interest and schedule appointments to complete assessments, intake, and enrollment processes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of program offerings, schedules, and requirements.
  • Conduct pre‑screening interviews to determine eligibility, assess readiness, motivation, and alignment of participant goals.
  • Facilitate intake appointments and conduct needs assessments to identify potential barriers and service needs.
  • Connect participants with the Student Success Coach or Career Services Specialist to assist with resources such as transportation, credentialing, and third‑party assistance.
  • Guide and nurture relationships with prospective participants through the full admissions process, including application support, financial sponsorship facilitation, and coordination of medical and testing requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of enrollment paperwork, assessments, student tracking entries, and case notes in the participant database.
  • Lead or support orientation sessions and serve as the primary liaison for newly enrolled participants.
  • Serve as a cross‑functional team member, collaborating with program, student success coach, and career services staff to ensure a participant‑centered experience from recruitment through retention.
  • Serve as a backup for other staff functions as needed.
  • Maintain schedule flexibility, including occasional evenings or weekends, to support community engagement needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • 1–3 years of experience in outreach, admissions, case management, recruiting, or workforce development.
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship‑building, community engagement, and participant coaching.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfort working in data systems and using technology to track and analyze outreach/enrollment performance.

    Experience working with populations who face systemic barriers to employment and education is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including event setup and extended standing during outreach events.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for community‑based work.
