Job DescriptionThe Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Texas A&M University—San Antonio is seeking to hire a part-time Adjunct Instructor of Psychology. The appointment will begin in Fall 2026. Potential courses include Research Methods and Statistics, Writing for Psychology, the Psychology Major, and other courses as needed. Courses may be offered days, evenings, or weekends, depending on departmental need. Most courses will be offered in person.
The department seeks faculty who are committed to evidence-driven teaching practices, experiential learning, and student persistence.
Teach assigned courses in the Psychology program, including research methods, statistics, writing for psychology, and the psychology major. Maintain current knowledge of psychological research methods and pedagogical strategies. Prepare lectures, assignments, and assessments. Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Collaborate with colleagues to support multidisciplinary teaching initiatives. Participate in departmental meetings and professional development as required.
Required Education & Experience- Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
- Teaching experience.
- Broad training in psychology.
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
- Experience serving as an instructor of record at the college or university level.
- Experience teaching at a multicultural university.
- Experience teaching in a nontraditional commuter university setting.
- Ability to teach a range of courses in psychology.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to interact with students from multicultural backgrounds.
- Pass a pre-employment background investigation.
- Provide official transcripts and required letters of recommendation upon selection.
