Position:
Adjunct Faculty in Mathematics (Part‑time Faculty) at Texas A&M University – San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas.
Location: San Antonio, Texas.

Job Overview

The Department of Computational, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences is hiring multiple part‑time adjunct instructors to teach college‑level mathematics courses in FALL 2026 and SPRING 2027. Courses include College Algebra, College Algebra Recitation, Contemporary Mathematics I, Introductory Statistics, Calculus I and II, Calculus I and II Labs, Precalculus, and other undergraduate mathematics courses. Instruction is primarily face‑to‑face during daytime hours, with some evening or online synchronous sections.

Responsibilities

• Teach the assigned undergraduate mathematics courses to enrolled students.

• Prepare course materials and assessments.

• Provide academic support and timely feedback to students.

• Participate in departmental meetings as required.

• Maintain attendance and punctuality for scheduled sessions.

Required Qualifications
  • An earned Master’s degree in Mathematics or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • At least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working toward (ABD) or earned Ph.D. in Mathematics or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience and interest in teaching undergraduates in a college/university setting.
  • Broad training in mathematics.
  • Prior college mathematics teaching experience.
  • Interest in active and collaborative learning, and use of instructional technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid courses.
  • Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System.
  • Experience working in a non‑traditional commuter university setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff and respond promptly to queries from students, faculty, and staff.
Additional Requirements
  • Submit a complete, unofficial set of transcripts (official transcripts are not required for initial application).
  • Letters of recommendation will be requested only if the applicant is invited to interview.
  • A pre‑employment background investigation is required for appointment.
  • Official transcripts must be submitted directly by each degree‑granting institution; transcripts from international institutions must be translated and evaluated as instructed.
