Summary
Antonian College Preparatory High School is seeking a part‑time computer science teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. The teacher will guide, inspire, and educate students in a Christ‑centered Catholic environment, reporting directly to the principal.

- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
- Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis to ensure the safety and well‑being of self and others
- Protects confidentiality of information and materials obtained in service with the organization
- Complies with the Code of Conduct and Faith and Moral Policy
- Promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the requirements of the school’s curriculum program
- Prepare lessons that accommodate differences in student learning styles
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Department of Catholic Schools, and administrative regulations
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment tailored to student needs
- Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities
- Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to DCS requirements
- Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s)
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
- Help students analyse and improve study methods and habits
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor outside activities approved by the principal
- Be a positive role model and support the mission of Catholic education
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook
- Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials as required
- Maintain open communication through conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills
- Keep informed of and comply with Department of Catholic school regulations and policies for classroom teachers
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and required documents
- Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 12 credit hours in education courses or a valid, appropriate state certificate, as outlined by Texas Catholic Conference Education Department standards
- Technology proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet use for educational purposes and multimedia presentations
- Demonstrated competency in the subject area(s) assigned
- Pass the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
- Knowledge of subject area and general curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, organized, self‑motivated, able to work independently and on a team
- Good written and verbal skills
- Willingness to work weekends and nights, if required, and assigned school hours during the day
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
