Tenure-Track Faculty Position In Human Genetics
UTHealth Houston School of Public Health invites applications to fill one tenure-track faculty position (open rank) in the area of human genetics within the Department of Epidemiology, affiliated with the Human Genetics Center.
Position
Key Accountabilities:
Responsibilities include developing a balanced portfolio of research, teaching, and service. Successful candidates are expected to serve as principal investigators on externally funded projects and as co-investigators on multidisciplinary research teams; applicants with existing external funding are strongly encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include course leadership and advising master's- and doctoral-level graduate students. Professional service includes contributions at the local, national, and international levels.
Qualifications:
Qualifications include: (1) an earned doctoral degree in epidemiology, medicine, genetics, biomedical science, biostatistics, bioinformatics or related fields; (2) a track record and/or strong promise of obtaining peer-reviewed external funding and publications in human genetics research; (3) commitment to excellence in teaching and advising graduate students; (4) excellent written and oral communication skills; and (5) a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for collaborative science.
