The Math Program Director is an experienced, competent and caring person to develop and manage a comprehensive academic instructional reading program using best practices for elementary and middle school youth. The Math Director will be responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of the intensive reading intervention program.
Essential Job Functions- Develop an effective result focused framework for program evaluation using best practices
- Hire and supervise the Math Program teaching staff
- Measure Results and Evaluate Effectiveness – Goals and objectives of both programs are quantified and measured with program data
- Expertise in technical writing, program analysis, and research methods
- Drive the overall programmatic strategy for the Intensive Focus Math Programs and seek to maintain and expand funding from private foundations, as well as develop new sources of income
- Foster partnership with area schools, grantors, and parents
- Participation in campus activities during and outside of school hours
- Evaluate all partners for alignment in purpose and approach as well as capacity for carrying out partner activities, including measuring, recording and reporting outcomes
- Memoranda of Understanding for all partnerships, the purpose of the partnership, responsibilities of all partners, and expectations regarding data collection, confidentiality, and other matters
- Work with executive leadership and staff to design cohesive and comprehensive reading and math intervention programs for youth ages six through fourteen
- Collaborate with school administration, teachers, and campus teams to ensure the effective coordination of program schedules and related events for students and families
- Teacher Certification
- Bachelor’s degree
- One‑year teaching experience
- Leadership and management experience in youth services, family support or K‑12 education setting
- Relationship management skills and experience in fostering a team approach to academic development and creating collaboration among partner organizations in academic development of students in the areas of reading and math
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain accurate grant records and submit reports in a timely manner
- Contribute to newsletter, articles, and stories
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of donors, board of directors, clients and the general public
- Must possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and interact well with all constituencies
