Position SummaryAs an Area Manager
, you will manage multiple in‑school enrichment and childcare programs located in and around San Antonio, Texas
. You will be directly accountable for the operations, quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability of each site. You will be Right At School's liaison with program managers, educators, coaches, parents, parent organizations, school administration, licensing agencies, and representatives.
- Oversee the implementation of Right At School's curriculum and ensure high‑quality program delivery and continuous improvement in all aspects of program operations
- Maintain direct profit & loss responsibility for assigned programs
- Market Right At School programs by seeking out opportunities to promote the program at relevant school and community events; drive internal growth opportunities for all locations in the area
- Ensure Right At School sites/programs meet state‑specific licensing requirements
- Implement effective standardized operating procedures to help drive program quality
- Develop positive, collaborative relationships with school administration, parent‑teacher organizations, outside vendor staff, and Right At School staff, including Central Office support staff
- Manage key HR functions, including scheduling, hiring, disciplining employees, supporting and promoting employee development and training through coaching and mentoring, and communicating with staff on classroom issues and standard operating procedures
- Minimum 3 years as a multi‑unit manager (5 or more site locations)
- Direct P&L experience
- Knowledge of child care licensing regulations preferred
- Experience working with children preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and foster teamwork
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi‑task, prioritize work, and manage deadlines
- Must possess excellent judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Ability to pass background checks, including Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
- First Aid and CPR in person
- Ability to drive to schools and districts within assigned footprint
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age
- Education and Experience (must meet one of the following combinations):
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with:
- At least 6 semester hours in management.
- At least one year of full‑time experience in child care or a related field.
- An associate’s degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field, with:
- 6 semester hours in child development and 6 semester hours in management.
- At least two years of full‑time experience in child care or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with:
- 60 semester hours with 9 semester hours in child development and 6 semester hours in management.
- And at least two years of full‑time experience in child care or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with:
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Certified Child‑Care Professional and 6 semester hours in management.
- And at least two years of full‑time experience in child care or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with:
- A child‑care administrator's certificate from a community college with at least 15 semester hours in child development and 3 semester hours in management.
- And at least two years of full‑time experience in child care or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with:
- A day‑care administrator's credential issued by a professional organization or an educational institution and approved by Licensing.
