Position: Graduate Assistant for Leadership Programming

Job Family Group: Student

Department/Office: Student Engagement and Development

Time Type: Part time

Compensation: $10.00-$13.07

Please note, starting salaries are based on factors including internal equity, relevant experience, and education.

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Job Description
  • Support and assist in the development and execution of leadership programs hosted by Student Engagement & Development.
  • Facilitate leadership programming events and workshops that are aligned with SED mission and objectives.
  • Direct advising of new student organizations at Trinity.
  • Assist with the execution of departmental assessment initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Required Education
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education before start date.
  • Enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong creative and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate degree of confidentiality.
  • Use and knowledge of computer, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite programs.
  • Use and knowledge of social media platforms and tools (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Instagram, Pinterest).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in student programming, leadership education, counseling, and/or other related fields.
  • An understanding of student development theory.
  • Proven commitment to and appreciation for issues of diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to articulate issues and trends in higher education.
  • Experience designing and conducting assessment activities.
  • Ability to take on assigned tasks with a high level of creativity, independence, and initiative.
Terms of Employment
  • Dates of employment are July 2026 - May 2027.
  • Average of 20 hours worked per week (unless otherwise approved by supervisor).
  • Available to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
