Job Description
Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Texas A&M University—San Antonio is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Instructor of Psychology. Appointment will begin in Fall 2026. Potential courses include Research Methods and Statistics, Writing for Psychology, The Psychology Major, and other courses as needed. Courses may be offered days, evenings, or weekends based on departmental need. Most courses are offered in person.
The faculty member is expected to support evidence‑driven teaching practices, experiential learning, and innovation that promote student persistence and completion.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
- Teaching experience.
- Broad training in psychology.
Education and Experience
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
- Experience serving as an instructor of record at the college/university level.
- Experience teaching at a multicultural university.
- Experience teaching in a non‑traditional commuter university setting.
- Ability to teach a range of courses in psychology.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Strong self‑discipline and ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to interact with students from multicultural backgrounds.
Finalists will be required to provide three current, original letters of recommendation, and official transcripts from each degree‑granting institution. Transcripts must be received directly by the Office of Academic Affairs; international transcripts must be translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
