Job Description

The School of Professional Studies Education Department at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio invites applications from qualified individuals to teach graduate counseling courses.

• School Counseling
• Mental Health Counseling
• Addictions Counseling
• Research
• Family Therapy

• Earned Doctorate degree in Counselor Education (CACREP accredited program graduates desired) or a related field.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of current best practices in School Counseling, Community Counseling, and Mental Health Counseling.

• Background in counseling or previous teaching at the university level preferred.
• Willingness to teach courses in a variety of formats including traditional, weekend, and online.
• Student‑centered teaching approach.
• Outstanding presentation and teaching skills.
• Proficiency with instructional technology and modeling best teaching practices.
• For School Counseling positions a certification such as Texas School Counseling Certification, LPC, or NCC is required.
