Cyber Instructional System Designer
Do you want to develop training that will transform cyber security? As an instructional designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can’t have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an instructional designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges in defensive cyberspace operations by crafting effective training.
ResponsibilitiesOn our team, you’ll work with SMEs, defensive cyberspace protection teams, and product designers to capture your mission partner’s training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their mission. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you’ll design training material to enhance operator performance. You’ll build training material with multimedia specialists and graphic artists following the ADDIE model.
You’ll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You’ll recommend cutting‑edge multimedia technologies and strategies to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you’ll meet with SMEs and product designers throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback.
To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you’ll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model then fine‑tune your training for maximum impact. You’ll hone your leadership skills through mentoring and shaping creative learning experiences that engage students.
- 5+ years of experience with instructor‑led and computer‑based training development and delivery methods
- 5+ years of experience with instructional design methodologies or teaching
- Experience demonstrating operational expertise in an Air Force training environment
- Experience in instructional design and military training development
- TS/SCI clearance
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience evaluating training deliverables
- Knowledge of Air Force defensive cyberspace operations
- Ability to understand and interpret complex technical documentation to develop effective training for advanced systems
- Bachelor’s degree
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
CompensationSalary range: $69,400.00 to $ (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
