Location: Law Enforcement, 1819 N Main Ave., San Antonio, Texas, 78212, United States.
Outside working hours: evenings and weekends may be required.
This position is part-time and temporary.
Job Summary and DescriptionTeaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full‑time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson; the relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning.
Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.
- Minimum of an associate degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or related field.
- Five years of experience as a Law Enforcement officer.
- Three years of experience teaching Law Enforcement classes.
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Peace Officer license or retired Peace Officer or TCO license.
- TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Instructor and Proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or a related field or higher.
- Teaching Basic Peace Officer Courses at a Law Enforcement Academy.
- Ten years of paid experience as a Texas Peace Officer.
