Assistant Professor of Instruction or Practice, Department of Social Work - College Health

Position Summary

The Department of Social Work is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor of Practice (fixed‑term track). The position may involve teaching undergraduate (BSW) and/or graduate (MSW) courses. Full‑time, 40 hours per week for nine months of each year.

Anticipated distribution: 80% teaching, 20% service. For an 80% teaching load, four courses each semester.

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses during fall and spring semesters.
• Course instruction primarily face‑to‑face; candidates must be able and willing to teach in that format.
• Engage in service activities as required by the department.

• Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE‑accredited program.
• Two (2) years of related experience after MSW completion.
• Knowledge of academic and social work practice environments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

• Previous experience teaching in higher education at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
• Social work licensure in Texas or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
• Doctoral degree in social work or a related field.

Salary up to $55,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
