Open Rank Faculty – Department of Environmental and Occupational Health

The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio seeks faculty candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, or community service. We are looking for individuals with expertise in environmental health, occupational health, or related fields who are committed to working with vulnerable populations and promoting well‑being for all.

Faculty will be expected to contribute formally to the academic curriculum, teach graduate courses in environmental and occupational health, and actively engage in internal and external service activities that support the mission of the School.

Qualifications
  • A doctorate in public health or a related field.
  • Prior experience teaching at the graduate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently conduct both practical and academic research.
  • Expertise or experience related to historically under‑resourced populations is desirable but not required.
  • Curriculum vitae with contact information for three references.
  • Cover letter outlining qualifications, interest in the position, teaching and mentoring philosophy, academic research trajectory, funding history, and future plans.

  • Serve public health needs and promote a culture of health and well‑being locally and regionally while thinking nationally and globally.
  • Educate, develop, and train the next generation of public health leaders and professionals in systems thinking and precision public health so that they can face the public health threats and opportunities of today and tomorrow.
Benefits Overview
