Position Mission:
The Jubilee Academies Principal-in-Residence (PIR) opportunity is designed to prepare aspiring principals in the adaptive, instructional, and managerial skills needed to lead a Jubilee Academies campus. PIRs are full‑time members of their campus leadership teams and will routinely practice the leadership competencies required for high‑performing schools. This role includes managing instructional programs, overseeing campus operations, and supervising personnel to uphold instructional standards and district policy compliance.
The PIR provides leadership that supports instructional excellence and effective campus operations, with a focus on outstanding educational outcomes for all students.
Principal in Residence work closely with mentor principals as the academic and cultural leaders of the campus. PIRs are passionate about coaching and developing teachers, teacher leaders, and contributing to the campus’s academic and cultural vision. Through an engaging campus culture, PIRs inspire staff and students to participate in rigorous and purposeful learning.
Education and Experience- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Master's in Education is preferred.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience is required.
- Valid Texas Mid‑Management / Principal Certification preferred.
- At least 2 years of Assistant Principal or equivalent campus‑level leadership experience is preferred.
- Participates in parent meetings and conferences, acting as intermediary between parents, teachers, and students.
- Engages all stakeholders in developing the campus mission, vision, and Lasting Leadership Values.
- Oversees campus practices and policies that promote high expectations and shared ownership for student success, including college and career readiness.
- Conducts regular campus climate surveys to assess progress on student and staff experience.
- Represents the school in community activities and meetings.
- Fosters positive relationships with PTA, community organizations, and leaders.
- Facilitates student connection opportunities by being present during arrival, dismissal, school functions, and student meetings.
- Enforces disciplinary policies and procedures with students.
- Provides training and ongoing support so teachers establish strong classroom culture, set behavioral expectations, and build relationships.
- Collaborates with district principals to select and develop curriculum aligned with local, state, and national standards.
- Coordinates staff development and provides instruction when needed.
- Improves campus leaders via job‑embedded professional development, modeling, observation, and feedback.
- Trains teacher leaders in adult learning facilitation and team dynamics.
- Ensures high‑quality instructional materials are used across classrooms, including those for students with disabilities and English learners.
- Supports teachers in employing research‑based practices that promote critical thinking and differentiated instruction.
- Demonstrates proficiency in content and pedagogy through quantitative and qualitative data.
- Uses data to drive instructional improvement.
- Clarifies instructional leaders’ roles, responsibilities, and leadership tasks on weekly calendars.
- Maintains required competency and student academic achievement set by the school board.
- Partners with the district on proactive recruitment and diverse candidate sourcing.
- Develops targeted retention strategies for high‑performing staff.
- Strategically places teachers based on student need and teacher strengths.
- Builds, manages, and develops strong collaborative teams.
