Job DescriptionPrimary Function: Provide students appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject area assigned in order to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function in contemporary society and pass all state required exams. Develop and implement lesson plans for the curriculum assigned and employ accommodations for individual student differences.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Elementary and Secondary testing, including special education CBMs, CBMs, TPRI, and other applicable testing.
- Special education inclusion supports throughout the campus, as needed.
- Teacher supports and coverage in understaffed or out of ratio classrooms throughout the campus.
- Use strategies and activities to increase student performance in content area and on standardized testing.
- Present subject matter in accordance with the guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Use appropriate instructional strategies, best practices, activities, materials, and equipment for assigned students as well as improve study methods and habits.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curriculum as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in IEPs.
- Assess student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Demonstrate professional, responsible, and ethical behavior.
- Participate in district and campus staff development and faculty meetings; demonstrate interest in and initiative toward continued professional development.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, facility members, and community members.
- Manage student behaviors in accordance with board policies, IEPs, BIPs, administrative regulations, facility behavioral programs, and the student code of conduct.
- Remain informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for teachers.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records and other documentation as required.
- Teacher supports and coverage in understaffed classrooms.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $56,300 to $75,000 Per Year

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate.
- Special education certificate within one year of hire.
- Knowledge of special needs of students in the assigned area.
- Knowledge of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Consultation and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage student behaviors.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
