A Youth Development Professional (YDP) focuses on delivering activities and mentorship to youth ages 6-18 that support their developmental growth toward a great future. YDPs plan and deliver programming to their age-based groups focusing on the Arts, Education, Character & Leadership, Health & Wellness, and Sports & Recreation. YDPs steward a climate that is inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Attends mandatory Professional Development Days once a month.
- Assist in daily cleaning of program spaces.
- As Mandated Reports, all BGCSA staff will be responsible for reporting any suspected physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse of youth to the authorities and Child Protective Services.
- Must complete and pass a comprehensive background check.
- HS Diploma required.
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth preferred.
- Must possess good character and decision-making skills.
- Must possess a sincere interest in children, maturity, self-control, and sound judgment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, members, and management.
