Adjunct Instructor - Interpreter Training
The Adjunct Instructor position in Division of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Interpreter Training is responsible for teaching courses in Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Interpreter Training. Adjunct faculty members are employed to provide specific courses on an as-needed basis. Contracts for adjunct faculty members are issued on a semester or term basis. Adjunct Instructors hold the responsibility for the management of courses taught. Adjunct Instructors are expected to be available for a reasonable amount of time for each course taught to counsel students regarding course work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in interpreting or related field with a minimum of 18 hours of coursework in interpreting or a related field
- Experience teaching ASLand/or Interpreting in an education/community/agency setting
- Experience in the use of educational technology and/or distance learning
- Experience in implementing curriculum in the fulfillment of courses
- Demonstrated evidence of successful collaboration with one of the following: school systems, community agencies, and other organizations
- Demonstrated evidence of professional involvement in the field
- National interpreter certification and/or ASLTAcertification
Preferred Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in interpreter education or related field
- Demonstrated leadership and membership in national professional organizations such as RID, ASLTA, NADand CIT (Conference of Interpreter Trainers)
This position does not require driving and does not have supervisory responsibility.
