Lecturer

The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Education and Human Development invites applications for the Lecturer position.

Position Information

Salary Range: $3,500 - $4,500 per course, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Type: Part Time

Position Summary

Lecturers may teach up to four classes a semester at the undergraduate or graduate level, in their area of expertise including:

  • Curriculum and Instruction
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Literacy Education
  • Clinical Teaching Supervision in all Certification Areas: EC-6, 4-8, 7-12, Bilingual Education, and Physical Education
    • Clinical Teaching Supervisors play a vital role in preparing future educators for success in the classroom. They observe, support, and assess clinical teachers (student teachers) during their field experiences to ensure readiness for the teaching profession.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct classroom observations of clinical teachers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assess teaching performance using program standards and evaluation tools.
  • Offer guidance and support to clinical teachers as they transition into professional practice.
  • Communicate regularly with university faculty and partner schools regarding progress and concerns.
  • Teach a weekly virtual seminar to clinical teachers.
  • Oversee clinical teachers completion of all TEA and EPP-required documentation.
  • Travel and/or drive to school sites to complete observations and assessments.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree from an Accredited University
  • Valid Texas teaching certification or Principal certification
  • Lecturer:
    Teaching Experience and qualifications comparable to those of faculty members in the untenured, tenure-track positions.
  • The successful candidate will possess the ability to effectively teach and mentor pre-service teachers, design and deliver curriculum aligned with Texas Education Agency standards and departmental guidelines, maintain strong organizational and time-management skills, provide timely and constructive feedback, and demonstrate a commitment to preparing future educators through best practices in teaching and learning.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
