Salary Range: Up to $55,000/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
Position SummaryThis position is an opportunity to serve students in two academic programs that prepare students to lead as innovators in public service. Courses in the Master of Public Administration program will remain at the Downtown Campus with proximity to community leaders and the nonprofit sector. The position also includes teaching in the Bachelor of Public Administration and Policy program, which has been recognized for exemplary experiential and career‑engaged learning.
The programs are deeply rooted in the local community, and faculty bring critical thinking and problem‑solving to their research and teaching.
This position would have a baseline teaching requirement of four undergraduate or graduate courses in the Public Administration Department each semester, and may include administrative appointments, such as undergraduate advisor of record and/or internship coordinator, which would reduce this teaching load.
Required Qualifications- For the Assistant Professor of Instruction position, a terminal degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field.
- For the Assistant Professor of Practice position, a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
- Teaching experience at the college level, especially incorporating active or experiential learning, and administrative experience at the college level.
- Engagement in service related to undergraduate students, potentially including curriculum and competency development, advising, and recruitment/retention is preferred.
- Alternative experiences such as a professional background in the public or non‑profit sector will also be considered.

Work Location and TravelThis position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
