Through a partnership with Innova Recovery Center, we provide a positive learning experience for students ages 12 to 17 who are on a journey of healing. Students benefit from structure, consistency, and strong relational support as they rebuild trust and engagement in school. Our staff help students develop coping skills, self-advocacy, and confidence while supporting academic growth.

The Instructional Assistant will assist with preparing and managing classroom activities for approximately 10 students. The role will provide one on one or small group academic or SEL instruction and will also assist with other administrative tasks. This position will work from a designated learning space at our Central Office located on the northwest side of San Antonio.

• Conduct instructional activities and work with students to develop various skills.
• Provide small group activities for differentiated instruction in the multi-grade level classroom.
• Monitor online instructional programs, as assigned.
• Assist with supervision of students with instruction or activities that may fall within or outside the classroom environment.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, neat and orderly learning space.
• Implement support and individual student accommodations.
• Follow district guidelines in maintaining classroom management, discipline and confidentiality.
• Participate in required staff development, staff meetings, special events, and school sponsored activities.
• Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Manage personal timesheet and abides by payroll procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma (or recognized equivalent) required
• Completed at least 48 hours of college credit; or
• Obtain an associate’s (or higher) degree
• Able to remain on feet for extended periods of time
• Able to lift/carry up to 10 pounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in an educational environment preferred
• Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment. Non-refundable fee paid by employee.

• This is a full time salaried non-exempt position. The daily rate is $152 ($19/hour). The position works 190 calendar days.
• Our district participates in Teacher Retirement System (TRS) and Social Security.
