** The Department of Natural Sciences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in
** Biology
* * with expertise in either biomedical sciences or animal physiology/organismal ecology; experience with biostatistics and R packages is also desirable. with the appointment beginning in Fall 2026. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate biology courses, including lecture and laboratory components, a commitment to student-centered teaching and the use of evidence-based instructional practices in the STEM fields, experience with undergraduate mentorship, and evidence of service at their institutions.
Biology is the largest program in the Department of Natural Sciences with over 800 majors and offers three undergraduate degrees: a BS, BA, or a BS with teacher certification in Biology. Within our BS degree program there are multiple tracks; cellular and molecular biology, zoology, ecology, and pre-health professions. As an instructional faculty member of the Biology team at a rapidly growing, aspirational university, faculty are expected to actively engage in curriculum development and improvement, student success initiatives, and recruitment activities.
Teaching responsibilities will include lecture and laboratory instruction in courses associated with their expertise as well as well as entry-level biology courses for both majors and non-majors. Enhancing student success in these foundational courses is a high priority for the university. The current teaching load for instructional faculty with service obligations is 5/5.The Department of Natural Sciences aims to provide the best possible educational experiences in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, and Water Resources Sciences & Technology (WATER).

This is a term limited one-year position anticipated to start as soon as possible with an end date of May 31, 2027.
