Open-Rank Professor of Instruction / Professor of Practice Series – College of Sciences, Biology, Health & The Environment
The University of Texas at San Antonio’s College of Sciences, Department of Biology, Health, and the Environment invites applications for multiple fixed‑term, open‑rank faculty positions in the Professor of Instruction or Professor of Practice series.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in biology or environmental science to support our BS in Biology, BS in Health Sciences, BS in Environmental Science, or BS in Environmental Studies. The baseline teaching requirement is 4 undergraduate or graduate lecture courses each semester. Faculty who teach coordinated courses are expected to collaborate with colleagues and align course content, assessments, and instructional practices to support student success and a cohesive learning environment.
Qualifications- PhD in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Instruction) or MS in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Practice).
- An MD with relevant clinical experience may also be considered.
- Experience teaching biology and/or environmental science lectures and labs.
- Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility. The position is contingent upon a successful background check.
