Hours:
Full-time extended workdays, occasional Saturdays, and some travel

Job DescriptionPosition Mission: The Special Education Achievement Specialist builds district capacity by advising campus leadership and delivering ongoing professional development. The role provides campus-based instructional modeling and compliance training for staff who implement IEPs and 504 plans, ensuring fidelity to instructional best practices and legal requirements. The Specialist partners with the Special Education Director to support campuses and collaborate with district teams to promote consistency and quality across the network.
The position serves as a mentor and primary point of contact to build teacher capacity and foster a culture of collaboration, equity, and accountability for students with diverse learning needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Master’s Degree (Preferred)
- Certified in Special Education by the Texas State Board of Education (Required)
- Minimum of three years of experience as a special education teacher (Required)
- 1–2 years of experience as a campus administrator (Preferred)
- Ability to travel to all campuses across regions
- Experience and knowledge of IDEA, TEA laws and regulations, and Section 504
- Demonstrated expertise in ARD facilitation and 504 meetings
- Understanding of the evaluation process and MTSS
- Proficiency in planning and lesson internalization
- Strong data interpretation and instructional decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders
- Experience providing professional development and coaching to special education teachers and paraprofessionals
- Knowledge of state and federal education laws, regulations, and mandates related to special education, 504, and Gifted and Talented
- Proficiency with educational technology tools to support curriculum delivery and assessment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in curriculum design
Duties and Responsibilities
Professional Growth and Development:
- Participate in staff development to improve job-related skills; provide timely, constructive feedback and coaching; stay current on developments in special education laws and practices.
Charter & Community Responsibilities:
- Convey the charter’s mission to the public and engage community involvement; participate in student recruitment activities.
Charter Atmosphere:
- Foster a constructive learning climate; promote fairness across cultural backgrounds; communicate Jubilee culture effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Mental/Physical Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent standing; movement of classroom equipment; bending and lifting as needed.
- Other: Adhere to dress code; maintain relationships with Jubilee staff; maintain required reports and stay informed on educational developments.
