Job Title: Lecturer of English Composition

Department: Department of Language, Literature, and Arts

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Job Type: Faculty (full‑time, non‑tenure‑track)

Start Date: Fall 2026

Teaching Load: 4/4 base load. Responsibilities include teaching First‑Year Composition courses, Dual Credit / Early College High School composition, and potentially Integrated Reading and Writing courses.

• Deliver undergraduate First‑Year Composition instruction.
• Provide service responsibilities within the department.
• Teach Dual Credit / Early College High School students in composition courses.
• Engage with instructional technologies, including learning management systems and digital portfolios.
• May teach Integrated Reading and Writing courses as needed.
• Participate in departmental and university service activities.

• Master’s degree in English or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Minimum 18 graduate hours in English.
• At least one (1) year of college or university teaching experience.
• Preferred:
  Experience teaching composition and a Ph.D. in English or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
