Lecturer of English Composition

Texas A&M University‑San Antonio is seeking a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track English Composition lecturer. The position will begin in Fall 2026 and carry a base 4/4 teaching load with responsibilities for teaching First‑Year Composition courses as well as service duties. Faculty serve a student body that includes many non‑traditional and first‑generation students. Summer teaching assignments may be available, but are not guaranteed.

• Teach First‑Year Composition courses and, as needed, Dual Credit / Early College High School composition classes.
• Potentially teach Integrated Reading and Writing courses.
• Utilize instructional technologies, including learning management systems and digital portfolios.

Required

Education and Experience:

• Master's Degree in English or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 18 graduate hours in English.
• Minimum one (1) year of college or university teaching experience.

Preferred

Education and Experience:

• Experience teaching composition.
• Ph.D. in English or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
