Role Description The Elementary Math Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area. This educator will plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction for elementary students, using TEKS and school-approved curricula. Daily responsibilities include designing lesson plans, teaching math concepts in whole-group and small-group settings, assessing student understanding, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
The teacher will maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment, communicate regularly with families and colleagues about student progress, and collaborate with campus staff to support school-wide initiatives. Additional duties include participating in professional development, contributing to campus events, and supporting interventions and enrichment activities that foster academic growth and strong character.
Qualifications
- Ability to plan and deliver effective elementary math instruction aligned with TEKS, using age-appropriate strategies and materials.
- Skill in differentiating instruction for diverse learners, including students with special needs and varying levels of math proficiency.
- Strong classroom management and behavior support skills that promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and campus leadership.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and data to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Commitment to the school’s core values of integrity, respect, personal responsibility, patriotism, and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; valid Texas teaching certification in Elementary Education or Mathematics (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience teaching elementary-grade students in a public, charter, or similar school setting is preferred.
