Certified Special Education (SPED) Substitute Teachers
Campus Adventures Staffing Solutions is seeking Certified Special Education (SPED) Substitute Teachers for long-term assignments at public charter schools in the 78227 area for the new academic year in August 2026.
This role requires educators who are confident supporting students with diverse learning needs across Life Skills, Reading by Design, Behavior, and Inclusion classrooms.
Note:
when the long-term assignment ends, candidates will have the opportunity to continue working as a daily substitute at an adjusted daily rate.

- Deliver instruction aligned with provided lesson plans and IEP accommodations
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and functional needs
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Implement behavior management strategies and reinforcement systems
- Adapt instruction and materials based on student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and campus staff
- Track student progress and communicate updates as needed
- Ensure compliance with all SPED-related requirements and expectations
- Experience working in Special Education classrooms (required)
- Confidence supporting students with behavioral and/or life skills needs
- Ability to stay calm, consistent, and structured in high-need environments
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Flexibility to work across grade levels (PK–12 as needed)
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Valid Special Education Certification (required)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Dyslexia Certification
- Experience in Life Skills, Behavior, or Inclusion settings
- Prior long-term substitute or lead classroom experience
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to remain active for up to 8 hours
- Ability to kneel, crouch, and assist students as needed
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to perform CPR if required
- Background check required (up to $50, non-refundable)
- Must complete all required training prior to placement
