Lecturer in Communications-SPS UIW Mission Position Summary
The School of Professional Studies invites part-time faculty candidates for Lecturer in Communications. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of part-time faculty members at the University include teaching and professional activities as assigned.
This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time faculty as needed for academic year. Note that part-time faculty are assigned for one term at a time.
Essential FunctionsBasic Instructional Duties:
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to deliver all instruction online.
- Ability to effectively learn, use, and incorporate instructional technology into teaching.
- Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend sections as needed.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
- Doctorate Degree/Terminal Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in relevant communications discipline is required to teach graduate courses.
- Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in relevant communications discipline is required to teach undergraduate courses.
- One (1) year of professional experience in the communications field.
- Experience teaching adult learners.
Experience teaching at the collegiate level.
Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsNone specified.
Work HoursBased on course assignment.
