Elementary Teacher

Responsibilities

• Change lives through education as you motivate students to achieve academic excellence
• Provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum
• Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
• Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth
• Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement
• Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
• Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community
• Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
• Participate in training and staff meetings
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits
• Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments
• Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character
• Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required
• Participate in events outside of normal hours
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree
• The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check
• A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located
