Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to patrons in finding and accessing materials in the Library
  • Use the online library system to check in and out materials, create and update patron records
  • Interact with library patrons in person and by phone, providing directional and bibliographic assistance
  • Communicate library policies and procedures
  • Filing loose-leaf pages
  • Participate in other duties and special projects as assigned
  • Provide technology assistance to patrons
Required Qualifications
  • Enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate student
  • Meet minimum eligibility requirements for student employment
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to work the entire 26-27 academic year
  • Professional demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Availability to work required schedule with the ability to adjust schedule to meeting the staffing needs of the library
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated exemplary work record
  • Customer service or previous library experience
  • Work-study award for the semester or school year
Salary Range

$17 per hour (undergraduate classification)

Working Conditions
  • Typical office environment
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard
  • All work will be performed on site at the Tarlton Law Library at the University of Texas School of Law
Work Shift

Must be available to work one of three schedules:

  • Schedule 1 (15 hours) Tuesday, 5pm-10pm Thursday, 5pm-10pm Sunday, 5pm-10pm
  • Schedule 2 (16 hours) Friday, 5pm-9pm Saturday, 5pm-9pm Sunday, 9am-6pm
  • Schedule 3 (16 hours) Wednesday, 5pm-11pm Friday, 4pm-9pm Saturday, 4pm-9pm
