Position Summary
St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking an English Teacher for the academic year. All teachers are expected to teach within the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity;

Scholarship; and Holistic Education. The English Teacher reports to the School Principal.
St. Anthony Catholic High School prepares young men and women for positions of responsibility and leadership through a college preparatory curriculum based on Catholic values and traditions.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the English Curricula.
- Ability to understand and teach concepts in the writing process.
- Ability to effectively deliver SAT prep instruction.
- Ability to learn and use interactive technologies to enhance learning.
- Willingness to assist in coaching students for speech competitions.
- Strong technology skills.
- Ability to address learning differences through differentiated instruction.
- Ability to provide additional tutorials or study sessions with students outside the regular school day.
- Successful completion of VIRTUS and background check.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Bachelor's Degree.
Required Work ExperienceAt least six (6) months of direct teaching or student teaching experience at the high school level. Note that relevant experience working with high school students will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree.
- Previous high school teaching experience.
- Texas Teacher certification in English.
The Archdiocese of San Antonio requires non-certified teachers to have 12 hours of education. Faculty hired without the 12 hours are placed on a deficiency plan and must obtain the 12 hours within two (2) years.
Work HoursMon to Fri 7:30 am-4:00 pm (see faculty handbook) Some night and weekend work dependent on student activity sponsorship and special events such as Open House.
