Position Purpose
Position will work with scholarship recipients and students for the Dell Scholars at UT Austin and UT for Me programs to ensure students stay on track to timely graduation. This position will interface directly with students, both individually and in groups, to provide academic, developmental, financial support and planning, career exploration and referrals, to campus resources.
Responsibilities
- Support first-time in college students from orientation through graduation and aid them in meeting their career goals.
- Interpret and analyze student's individual experience to formulate plan of action to accomplish goals and maintain academic persistence.
- Manage a large caseload of students through regular contact in person, via email, text, and other forms of communication.
- Provide individualized and organizational programming to promote retention and timely graduation with a focus on career outcomes; utilize holistic advising practices and key on- and off-campus resources to address both academic and non-academic concerns.
- Communicate with on-campus student success programs, career services, and all undergraduate colleges and schools (CSUs), as well as regarding individual student situations.
- Utilize various case management tools and data sources to manage large caseload, including Grad Snapp, Advisors Toolkit, EAB Navigate, and multiple dashboards and databases.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three years experience coordinating or administering a program working with college students or high school students in a college readiness capacity, orientation, counseling, advising, retention, student life, residence life, service learning, financial aid counseling, or closely related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to use technology on a daily basis.
- Knowledge of student development, campus ecology, community development, and student learning theories and their applications in practice.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Higher Education administration or related field.
- Experience with UT Austin academic advising, student success programming or other intensive student-facing support programs.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Excellent planning, evaluation and assessment, time management, marketing, and problem-solving skills.
Salary Range $50,000+ depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
