Job Description:
Advises high school participants regarding academic performance, career planning and college admissions. Develops curriculum for college preparation seminar courses. Maintains documentation of program activities, compiles annual performance reports and assists in the implementation of program services.
JOB DUTIESAdvises high school participants regarding academic performance, career planning and college admissions in the schools and at the university. Develops curriculum for college preparation seminar courses in both academic year and summer component.
Maintains documentation of program activities and compiles annual performance reports on program services.
Assists in the implementation of program services, including cultural enrichment field trips and campus visits.
Identifies, screens and recruits participants from target middle and high schools.
Collaborates with target school administration through attendance at district meetings and individual consultation in regards to student academic performance.
Provides feedback to the Director regarding student's needs and concerns.
Lead outreach efforts to Spanish speaking families through the development and implementation of parent workshops and individual meetings.
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Candidates must be able to work on some Saturdays for Saturday learning sessions (in-person and/or virtually) with the students.
Performs other duties as required.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work or related field from an accredited institution.
Required:
Two years of experience in teaching or academic advising.
Two years of experience in a position involving direct service delivery to low-income, potential first-generation college students or students of color.
Experience with TRIO students.
An understanding of the philosophy of the TRIO programs.
Written and oral fluency in Spanish.
Required:
Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and organization skills. F

ATTENDANCE STANDARDMaintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements are an essential requirement of this position, including working all full-time regular hours as established by the supervisor in addition to any scheduled or emergency overtime.
