Job Description Job Overview
We are seeking a warm and energetic After school Teacher to support our Pre‑K classrooms midday and lead an after school group each afternoon. The After school Teacher will cover teacher lunch and planning breaks, receive students at afternoon arrival, and provide snack, outdoor play, homework help, and hands‑on enrichment across our farm and gardens. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a wide age range in a nature‑based setting where children learn alongside gardens, animals, and outdoor classrooms.
Part time:
Monday-Friday, 11:00-6:30 $ 15.00-$16.50 per hour
- Cover lunch and planning breaks in Pre‑K classrooms, following each teacher’s routine and maintaining required ratios
- Receive students at afternoon arrival and keep accurate head counts and rosters
- Lead the after school program through 6:30, including snack, outdoor play, and homework help
- Plan age‑appropriate enrichment activities such as art, science and technology.
- Supervise children closely during transitions, outdoor time, and pick up
- Communicate daily updates with parents regarding activities, needs, and any concerns
- Document incidents and concerns appropriately
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of classroom and program spaces
- Conduct safety checks of equipment and supplies to ensure compliance with health standards
- Know and comply with all state Minimum Standards
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles for preschool and school‑age children
- Proven classroom management skills with a focus on early childhood and school‑age techniques
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to handle child supervision responsibly while demonstrating patience and empathy
- Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record preferred, for our afternoon van pick up route. No CDL required
At least one year of experience in teaching or licensed childcare roles working with young children
Ability to stay on your feet and be outdoors in varied weather
- Certification in first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR, and child safety protocols
Must be willing to pass a background check
Minimum 2 years experience in a licensed facility
High School Diploma or equivalent required
