Lecturer in Economics UIW Mission
The Department of Economics invites part‑time faculty candidates for Lecturer in Economics within the H‑E‑B School of Business and Administration. This faculty position will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in economics. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of part‑time faculty members at the University include teaching and professional activities as assigned.
This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part‑time faculty in designated discipline as needed during the academic year.
Essential FunctionsBasic Instructional Duties:
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to deliver instruction primarily in‑person with ability to teach online as needed;
- Ability to effectively learn, use, and incorporate instructional technology into teaching;
- Willingness and flexibility to teach evening sections as needed;
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
- Master's Degree in Economics or Master's Degree in related field with at least 18 graduate hours in economics is required to teach undergraduate classes.
- Doctorate Degree in Economics is required to teach graduate courses.
One (1) year professional experience within the field of economics, finance or business.
Preferred QualificationsTeaching experience in this field in higher education.
