JOB SUMMARY
The Education Coach will provide consultation, coaching, mentoring, and training to Head Start staff to support school readiness. Using a Practice‑Based Coaching model in conjunction with a research‑based curriculum, the Coach will ensure alignment with school‑readiness goals, Texas Pre‑K Guidelines, and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. Various strategies—including side‑by‑side coaching, co‑teaching, instructional planning, and reflective feedback—will be used with teaching staff.
The Coach will collaborate with the Education Coordinator to develop and revise policies, procedures, and service plans per agency policies and Head Start Program Performance Standards, NAEYC standards, and licensing Minimum Standards. Traveling between Family Service sites is a requirement for this position.

Represents the agency in the community for human service, training, collaboration, networking, and marketing. Works cooperatively with all staff to accomplish the mission, goals, objectives, and performance measures of the program and agency.

Increase client access, enrollment, and satisfaction of program resources by creating wraparound services, recruitment, and surveying strategies. - Internal Processes:
Use agency and program data to track clients through different agency programs to gauge resiliency and outcomes of participating families. - Learning and Growth:
Strengthen staff and client well‑being by addressing the social determinants of health:

- Provide training, mentoring, and coaching in all areas of a developmentally appropriate early childhood classroom. Training may require videotaping of coaching practices and interactions with teachers in the classroom.
- Devote attention, ensure compliance, and insert innovative processes in the area of quality improvement of early childcare centers.
- Provide evaluations, observations, and assessments to teachers. Support teachers in analyzing and using data collected from Child Plus and other databases. The Coaching Log will be used for follow‑up and feedback after each visit.
- Research literature and existing local, state, and national programs to obtain information on best practices, new training, and education methods, and incorporate these findings in coaching teaching staff.
- Use required coaching and instructional tools such as the Curriculum Fidelity Checklist and Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) observation to monitor teacher’s progress and set goals for improvement.
- Collaborate with other city‑wide Early/Head Start coaches to provide opportunities for enhancement, participation, discussion, and education matters relevant to coaching.
