Step into a rewarding and impactful role as a Visually Impaired Teacher, supporting students academic and personal development throughout the  school year. In this full-time, in-person position, you will serve as a vital resource for students with visual impairments, working collaboratively with educational staff and families to create an inclusive and empowering learning environment.

Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligibility for appropriate state credentials
  • Proven experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments, preferably within educational settings
  • Familiarity with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Ability to adapt and differentiate curriculum materials and classroom activities to accommodate varied vision needs
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Knowledge of assistive technology relevant to visual impairment is highly desirable
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to each students unique needs and learning goals
  • Assess students strengths and areas for growth associated with visual impairments
  • Consult regularly with classroom teachers to support accessibility and accommodations
  • Provide training and guidance on adaptive technology, mobility strategies, and self-advocacy skills
  • Track student progress and document outcomes in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Maintain a positive and supportive classroom culture that fosters independence and confidence
