The Fountain Group is currently seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in San Antonio, TX
. Details of the position are as follows:
- Pay is $43.05/hr to Start!
- 9-Month Assignment with potential for extension based on performance and budget.
- Monday – Friday (must be available to work variable shifts/scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekends and holidays)
- This position is primarily responsible for performing aircraft structural modification and repair on critical and fracture‑critical areas, including close‑tolerance drilling, reaming, installation/removal, sealing, shimming, painting, and structural preservation.
- This position is also responsible for interpreting and executing engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications using specialized tooling, fixtures, and aircraft‑specific test equipment to ensure precision, safety, and compliance.
- This position is responsible for ensuring operational readiness and regulatory compliance by following established safety, quality assurance, and documentation procedures while coordinating with inspectors, engineers, and production teams to accomplish depot‑level objectives.
- Recent A&P or Aviation Academy graduates are encouraged to apply!
- 1+ years of experience working with non‑porous metals, such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless is required!
- 1+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures is required!
- 1+ years of experience using structural hand tools such as drills 45 and 90 degrees, pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.) to aircraft is required!
- 1+ years of experience working heavy structures: locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures (i.e. doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.) to aircraft is required!
- Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance (C17 Depot Level) is preferred!
- Experience working with titanium aircraft structures is preferred!
- Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment is preferred!
