Senior Estimator

This role is for an estimator who takes pride in precision and knows that great projects are won long before the first piece of steel is cut.

Our client is looking for a Senior Estimator to lead complex structural steel bids from first drawings through award. You will own takeoffs, pricing strategy, and scope clarity on commercial and industrial projects where accuracy and coordination actually matter.

• Develop accurate material and labor takeoffs from structural drawings and specifications
• Build detailed cost models covering materials, shop and field labor, equipment, and buyout items
• Partner directly with general contractors to clarify scope, schedules, and bid questions
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare supplier and vendor pricing
• Review drawings for scope gaps, design changes, and cost impacts
• Prepare clear bid scopes, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications
• Manage bid schedules, deadlines, and follow-ups through award
• Support a smooth handoff to project management after contract award

• 5+ years of estimating experience in structural or industrial steel fabrication
• Strong ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools
• Clear, professional communication with internal teams and GC partners
• Sharp analytical judgment and an instinct for identifying risk before it shows up downstream
