Job Summary
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled FAA Flight Readiness Technician B to support 787 program operations in San Antonio, TX. This role provides critical production support, focusing on safety, efficiency, and product quality. The ideal candidate will perform routine and complex tasks including component installation, verification, system functional testing, rework, maintenance, and pre‑/post‑flight activities.
Responsibilities- Perform flight test installations and aircraft functional testing.
- Assist in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems to identify and repair mechanical/electrical faults.
- Conduct pre‑flight and post‑flight checks, along with necessary maintenance and modification tasks.
- Resolve issues found during operation and testing of deliverable aircraft.
- Verify the accuracy and quality of work performed.
- Assist with system and subsystem pre‑delivery inspections and maintenance in preparation for aircraft delivery.
- Contribute to assignment planning and execution to meet project objectives.
- Plan and schedule daily activities with guidance from a lead; completed work is reviewed for meeting expectations.
- Ability to work all shifts.
- Minimum 6 months of avionics and/or electrical experience.
- Minimum 6 months experience working with live aircraft systems and flight operations.
- Minimum 6 months experience/knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk.
- 3+ years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
- 6 months of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
- 6 months of 787 Program experience.
- 6 months experience in Field/Flight Line Operations.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Typically 1+ years of related work experience, or equivalent through vocational school or an Associate degree.
- Regular and predictable attendance required.
