Robotics EngineerWe are seeking a hands‑on entry to junior level Robotics Engineer to support rapid prototyping and testing of drone systems. This is a uniquely broad role within a small, fast‑paced engineering team (5–10 engineers) focused on building and iterating real hardware.
This position is ideal for an early‑career engineer who enjoys building physical systems, working across mechanical and software domains, and learning by doing. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design 3D parts, build and solder subassemblies, configure flight systems, deploy software, and support flight testing.
This is not a narrow software‑only or mechanical‑only role. We are looking for a balanced generalist who is comfortable working across domains. This role is ideal for someone who wants exposure to mechanical design, hardware integration, Linux‑based deployment, and flight testing early in their career.
What You’ll Do- Design simple brackets and enclosures in Solid Works for drone subassemblies
- Assemble and integrate drone subcomponents
- Pinout JST‑GH connectors and perform clean, reliable soldering
- Configure PX4-based systems and assist with hardware integration (UART, sensors, SBCs, autopilot connections)
- Use Linux tools to deploy software, edit configuration files, and pull logs
- Assist in flight testing and collect/analyze logs
- Support rapid prototype builds and small internal engineering projects
- Within 6 months: independently design, build, and test small internal projects
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience (internships acceptable)
- Comfortable using Linux terminal (editing files, running scripts, pulling logs)
- Demonstrated programming ability (Python or C++) through coursework, internships, or personal projects
- Solid Works or other CAD experience (brackets, enclosures, basic mechanical integration)
- Hands‑on hardware experience (soldering, connector work, Arduino/PX4 or other robotics projects, etc.)
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
- Arduino or small embedded project experience
- SAE, Competition robotics or personal drone builds
- FAA Part 107
- RC quad copter or fixed‑wing flight experience
- Experience with PX4 or similar autopilot systems
- Git Hub portfolio or documented personal engineering projects
- Ability to sit and/or stand for periods of time.
- Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and other equipment with or without accommodations.
- Ability to maintain awareness during business hours.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and good command of the English language.
- Learns and memorizes routine tasks.
