Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is adding a Survey Crew Leader in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities:

* Act as chief of a survey crew and supervise all work in the field.

* Perform the more difficult survey measurement tasks using total station, GPS and other electronic survey equipment.

* Make decisions on all field problems, consulting with office staff and supervisor as needed.

* Take field notes and prepare maps and sketches from survey data.

* Read and interpret plans and blueprints.

* Make necessary mathematical computations.

* Operate and supervise the use of all survey equipment including: GPS receivers, theodolite instrument, levels, electronic distance meter, electronic total station, electronic data collector, laser level, Philadelphia and linker rods and level.

* Check all work preformed by field survey crew.

* Train and instruct crew members on the proper use and care of survey equipment.

* Frequently drive to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings.

* Consult with various city, county and private utilities and construction foremen.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED, including or supplemented by course work in engineering, field surveying and/or Mathematics.

* Minimum of 5 years of field survey experience as an instrument person.

* Ability to prepare work and observation reports and make surveying computations.

* Strong oral and written communication skills and outstanding attention to detail.

* Knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry.

* Current/valid State Driver's License with demonstrated safe driving practices required.
