Responsibilities
- Establish a sound and balanced capital plan for the plant on a yearly basis with the support of process engineers and leadership by function – maintenance, safety, quality, R&D.
- Establish, execute and realize savings from the Automation and Productivity Masterplan.
- Execute medium to large investment projects from feasibility to startup phase.
- Support and coach process engineers on project design, planning and execution.
- Maintain frequent communication of project status with all stakeholders.
- Communicate risks and required help to all stakeholders.
- Anticipate potential issues, develop action and contingency plans.
- Track schedule, cost and quality of all projects, including deliverables and main KPIs after startup.
- Develop funding packages for medium to large capital investments.
- Support the organization with agility and technical expertise whenever new business needs arise.
- Help develop engineering work processes and change management systems.
- Adhere strictly to standards of quality, OHS and controls established by CFIA, HACCP Canada and WSIB/CSST.
- Ensure all other local, provincial and country laws and regulations are adhered to in any new project proposals.
- Ability to communicate fluently (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in English.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment executing projects.
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Creative, innovative and detail oriented.
- Must be available to travel 20% of the time.
- Strong interpersonal skills: communication, influence, accountability and teamwork.
- Ability to improve and streamline work processes.
- Ability to balance quality, schedule and cost.
- Ability to develop design basis, RFQs, option analysis, track overall engineering and manufacturing deliverables, and readiness tools.
- Experience with Food Processing Technology & Automation.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF, CFIA.
- Basic capital management and purchasing knowledge.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and engineering work processes.
- Automation & Controls experience.
- Projects not limited to location based only.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

Typical work in an office and manufacturing environment. Hours will vary according to projects, with possible extended hours and weekend work. Exposure to noise, dust, refrigerated environments, and other industrial conditions. Physical effort includes light exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, noise and hazards associated with mechanical, chemical and electrical equipment.

Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $71,880.00 – $ (actual compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience and geographic location).
